Apex Rises to the Occasion to Help Senior Living Facility Recover from Weather-Related Flooding
In late 2023, unseasonably cold weather hit northern Georgia. A senior living facility in North Atlanta was hit hard when a sprinkler line pipe in its attic froze and burst, leading to extensive flooding on both the first and second floors, rendering the facility uninhabitable and jeopardizing the safety of its elderly residents.

Evaluate the Situation
At Apex Disaster Management, we prepare for disasters like these, so when we got the call, our team responded immediately, arriving on-site to assess the damage and begin a comprehensive restoration process. Initially, we performed an emergency water extraction to mitigate further damage and prevent mold growth. Our advanced dehumidification equipment was then deployed to thoroughly dry out the property, including hidden areas like behind walls and under flooring.
Prevent Contamination
Next, to prevent contamination, we removed and disposed severely damaged materials including drywall, insulation, and flooring. This was followed by comprehensive mold remediation to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents.

Restore the Facility
Once the emergency was addressed, it was time to rebuild, and our skilled craftsmen and project managers got to work. We rebuilt damaged walls, installed new flooring, and refurbished affected areas to match or exceed their original condition. Throughout the process, we prioritized quality and speed, employing cutting-edge technology and best practices to ensure thorough sanitation and structural integrity. The result was a fully restored, move-in-ready facility that not only met, but exceeded, safety and aesthetic standards, showcasing Apex Disaster Management’s ability to handle complex and challenging disaster recovery projects with exceptional professionalism and efficiency.
